Greater Manchester Police’s Xcalibur Task Force working under Operation Tahara have sent youths in the City of Manchester and Trafford, New Year resolution cards for 2024.
The cards incorporate logos from partner agencies such as Manchester City Football Club’s ‘City in the Community’ and the Prince’s Trust, all of who Xcalibur work closely with on a regular basis.
A GMP officer’s phone number is also included, for those who wish to speak to someone about taking steps to make a positive change to their lives next year.
Over 30 cards will be sent out in the coming days urging people to get in touch.
Detective Inspector Kat McKeown from Xcalibur said: “These cards are just one of the many things that we have produced over the last few months as work continues to reduce serious youth violence across the whole of Greater Manchester.
“Our work is not solely down to catching criminals and putting them behind bars, it is much more than that.
“We are out in communities in the City of Manchester and Trafford trying to make a positive impact to all who we come in contact with. Whether that be putting on events in partnership with City in the Community or with the Prince’s Trust, or engaging with local councils and with residents while out on patrol.
“A start of a New Year is normally the start of something new for people, whether that be a promise to exercise more or eat healthier, we want this to be the start of a new life for those that get in touch, so please reach out and we will help you in whatever way we can.”
