Extra officers will be on patrol in Brinnington, Stockport, after a series of anti-social behaviour incidents.
Emergency services attended the area from about 9pm to midnight on 17 February 2023 after reports that a number of bins had been set on fire.
Officers also needed to disperse groups of youths. No arrests have been made.
Chief Inspector Ian Wrench, of GMP's Stockport district, said: "Setting fires is not only dangerous but also ties up emergency services resources that could be needed elsewhere in Greater Manchester.
"We will have extra officers in the area over the weekend and next week, and will consider using tougher measures to ensure there is no repeat of the dangerous and irresponsible acts.
"We would urge anyone with any information about last night's disorder to contact police quoting log 3521-17/02/2023.”
Information can also be reported online or by using the LiveChat function at www.gmp.police.uk. If you can't report online, call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
