Greater Manchester Police have received a report of a sexual assault that had taken place on Wednesday 1 February 2023 at around 10am.
The victim, a teenage girl, was walking along an estate inside Park Road in Little Lever, Bolton when she was approached by an unknown man who sexually assaulted her.
The suspect has been described as a white man, around 6ft 1inch tall and with grey/blue eyes with wrinkles around them giving the impression that he was an older man with wrinkly skin. He was wearing a white short sleeve shirt, blue jeans, black balaclava.
Detective Sergeant Dominic Beaver of Bolton CID said: "This is a very concerning attack on a young girl and I would like to assure the local community that the investigation team is working at pace to locate the offender.
"Specialist officers are supporting the victim at this time and whilst we are following up a number of leads we are now also appealing to the public for help in identifying this man.
"We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have been in the area of Park Road or “the avenues” at approximately 10am on 1 February 2023 - or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage relating to this incident.
"If you have any information to share that could aid our investigation please call 0161 856 5757 quoting incident number 3196 of 5/2/2023.
"Alternatively, you can report information anonymously via the independent charity – Crimestoppers – on 0800 555 111."
