Officers in Salford have authorised a Section 60 Order after a man was taken to hospital with stab injuries.
Police responded to reports of a stabbing at Oakhill Court, Mandley Park Avenue, at around 5pm on 15 February 2023.
A man aged 39 was treated at the scene for his injuries and taken to hospital where his condition is unknown.
A Section 60 Order allows officers in a prescribed area to stop and search individuals.
The Salford order will be reviewed at 5pm tomorrow (16 February 2023) and includes the area bounded by Cheetham Hill Road, Bury New Road, Bury Old Road and Upper Park Road.
Extra officers will be on patrol in the area with an investigation under way.
Insp Steve Corless, of GMP's Salford district, said: “We have authorised stop-and-search powers in response to a number of serious incidents in recent weeks.
"I would urge members of the public that saw anything suspicious or witnessed the incident to please come forward and report this information to us immediately.
“Your information no matter how small it may seem could be a huge help in our investigation."
