A 35-year-old man who was arrested on Thursday 19 January 2023 on suspicion of conspiracy to murder in the case of Liam Smith has been released on police bail.
A 39-year-old man who was arrested yesterday (Friday 20 January 2023) remains in custody and is being questioned by detectives from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Major Incident Team.
Liam was murdered on Kilburn Drive in Wigan on the evening of Thursday 24 November 2022, after he was subject to a fatal gunshot wound and an acid attack.
GMP is urging anyone with any information to come forward. If you have any information or footage from the Kilburn Drive or Shevington area of Wigan on the evening of Thursday 24 November please make a statement to GMP.
