Man arrested as officers investigate collision in Oldham

At approximately 3:00am this morning (22 January 2023), officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision at the Big Lamp Roundabout in Oldham. 

A vehicle was travelling in a northerly direction along Oldham Road towards the ‘Big Lamp Roundabout’. The vehicle then collided with the roundabout before coming to a rest in the carriageway.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle did not remain at the scene.

One man has since been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and another man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident - or might have footage or dashcam footage - to please come forwards and report it. You can do so by calling 0161 865 4741. quoting incident number 461 of 22/01/2023.
