On 14 January 2023, Greater Manchester Police received reports that late in the evening of Friday 13 January a woman was found with injuries on Roman Road, Failsworth.
Extensive enquiries suggest that the victim, a woman in her 30’s, was walking from Hollinwood Cricket Club in Oldham sometime after 10.30pm on Friday 13 January and was later seen on CCTV walking along Roman Road in the direction of Limeside Avenue, where she was found.
Detective Inspector Nicholas Helme of GMP’s Oldham district, said: "A team of detectives are following up a number of lines of enquiry and are appealing for the public's help for more information.
“Anyone who was in the area that night that may have seen or come to the assistance of a lone female in this area who may have appeared in distress is asked to come forward.
"It is believed that a vehicle may have stopped and assisted or spoken to the victim and any information they have may greatly assist police with their investigation. If you believe you are this person or people in this vehicle, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
"If you were out on that evening (13 January 2023) in the area or you have any CCTV footage or information regarding this incident - then please contact GMP on 0161 856 8999 quoting Log 1039 of 14/01/2023.
