Danila Ciprian (22/06/1994) of no fixed abode has been charged with 16 counts of theft.
Vasile Bancuta (01/01/1990) of Kingsheath Avenue, Liverpool is charged with five counts of theft and possession of criminal property.
They have both been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester & Salford Magistrates Court this afternoon (Wednesday 25 January 2023).
A 46-year-old man has been released on bail under conditions pending further enquiries in relation to similar reports.
These charges are a result of an in-depth investigation into a spate of mobile phone thefts within the City Centre.
Inspector Phil Marsh of Greater Manchester Police’s City of Manchester Central district said; “Our dedicated proactive approach continues to address mobile phone thefts in the City Centre supported by partnership action. GMP would urge members of the public to continue to assist where possible by remaining vigilant and securing their personal belongings.”
