Chief Superintendent Emily Higham speaks about why Neighbourhood Watch is an important tool in policing our communities
Chief Superintendent Emily Higham, GMP’s Wigan district Commander who also leads the fight against neighbourhood crime in Greater Manchester, said: “It is imperative that the public sign up to neighbourhood watch and or GMP’s Bee In the Loop so we can give you key messages and intelligence that builds resilience in your community.
“I know most of you have a WhatsApp or a Facebook group where you communicate with your street and wider neighbourhood, because I am within my own community.
“But what we really need is a link between us, the police, and yourselves so we can provide up to date messages and information to help keep yourself, your family and your neighbourhood safe from criminals.
“Joining up is so easy, if you are a member of neighbourhood watch and or GMP’s Bee In the Loop you will automatically start getting updates from police and from the local authority and from neighbourhood watch as well if you sign up to do so.”
