On Monday 26 June 2023, officers received reports of a woman being followed and filmed by an unknown man on First Street in Manchester City Centre.
The woman went into a shop and alerted security staff and the police were called to the scene.
After conducting further enquiries, it was disclosed to officers that a month previous to this incident she had been followed into her place of work by an unknown male and she was concerned for her safety.
An investigation was launched to locate the individual and on the Saturday 8 July 2023 a man was arrested.
On Sunday 9 July 2023, Joshua Etchells (26/05/2001) of Lowton Road in Sale was charged with section 4a public order and stalking involving serious alarm and distress.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Tuesday 18 July 2023.
