A warrant executed on Binns Street in Stalybridge on Friday 7 July 2023 by Greater Manchester Police has uncovered a large number of drug packages worth a street value of around £35,000, following an extensive search of the area.
A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs at the scene and remains in custody for questioning. Air pistols were also seized from the address.
Detective Constable Jake Orr of GMP’s Operation Challenger, Tameside Organised Crime Unit said; “This successful warrant showcases our determination to tackle serious and organised crime groups in our areas of Greater Manchester.
“Our work doesn’t stop, as we work together to relentlessly pursue and disrupt this kind of crime as well as reduce the risks to vulnerable people and stop them from becoming victims. This type of criminality includes county lines and other forms of serious offences relating to it.
“I would encourage members of the public to continue to be our ‘eyes and ears’ and report anything they suspect is affecting their area in full confidence by ringing 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Always dial 999 in an emergency.”
