£50,000 reward granted for key information that leads to the discovery of the killer from a double shooting in Moss Side three years on

Greater Manchester Police and family members are once again appealing to the public on the third anniversary of the fatal double shooting in Moss Side that took place on Sunday 21 June 2020, which tragically claimed the lives of 36-year-old Junior Ajose and 21-year-old Cheriff Tall.

A dedicated team of detectives have continued to work tirelessly to piece together what happened in the early hours (approximately 00:55am) in a car park on Caythorpe Street after gun shots were heard, but still desperately need the public’s help to locate the gunman.

This was after officers were made aware that two men had arrived at hospital with gunshot wounds. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, they sadly died.

Over the years the investigation has seen several warrants carried out which has also led to a number of people being questioned in custody and the seizure of mobile phones for forensic analysis.

But more is needed to bring the justice the families of Junior and Cheriff deserve after suffering immense heartbreak.

That is now why a £50,000 reward has been made available for anyone who has any further detail that can lead to the successful conviction of the killer.

Despite the time passed GMP remain committed to investigate the murder and speak to more witnesses as answers still lie within the community after it was believed between 300-400 were present at the time.

Detective Chief Inspector and Senior Investigating Officer, Neil Higginson, said: “I am sad to say that in this period we haven’t been able to get the justice the families deserve. I still believe that we can achieve this, but I know that we require the help of the public to do so.

“We have a good understanding of what occurred that night and we do have an outstanding suspect, but we need more evidence. This evidence could be provided to us by people who were present when the murders occurred or those who have possession of mobile phone footage from that night.

“We know most people who were present were there to enjoy themselves and not cause trouble, as it showed many people present at the gathering. So, we are certain that they will have vital detail that can help in our investigation in the events leading up to, during or after the murder. Our focus is to obtain this key evidence so that we can convict the person responsible for the murders.

“I understand that people can be reluctant to come forward in this type of case, for a variety of reasons, but I ask that you do so. Please see it that you will be helping the families who are desperate for justice.

“I or my team will meet you at any time or place. Please allow us the opportunity to talk through what support we can provide you to increase your confidence in us.

“I can also say that we can now offer a £50,000 reward to anyone who can assist with giving us key information which leads to the successful conviction of those responsible.
