An investigation by Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team has led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man in connection with the murder of Salah Eldin Adam.
Salah was killed last month (Wednesday 31 May 2023), after he was attacked on Kings Road in Old Trafford with enquiries suggesting that Salah went to the aid of a friend who was being chased by two young men. It is believed that the two men then turned-on Salah instead resulting in Salah being fatally stabbed.
Last night, detectives in GMP’s Major Incident Team arrested a 20-year-old man suspicion of murder and he remains in police custody for questioning.
A further two males were arrested on the night of the attack (31 May 2023) in connection with the murder - including a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of murder and a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. They have both been released on bail pending further enquiries and another man previously charged in connection with this incident.
Detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to make themselves known to police.
Detective Inspector Paul Davies of GMP Major Incident Team said: “We have made significant progress and have arrested a number of individuals and charged one man in connection with this incident, these are huge steps in our murder inquiry as we piece together the events leading up to the attack on Salah and provide his family the answers they so badly need.
“If you were in the area or have any information relating to this case - including if you have footage such as CCTV or dashcam - I urge you to do the right thing and share it with us so we can find those responsible and get justice for Salah.”
Anyone with any information should contact police via 101, quoting incident 3367of 31/5/2023. Details can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
