At around 1:30am on Saturday 28th May 2023 officers were called to Cobden Street, Oldham, to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and an unknown vehicle.
A 31-year-man was treated at the scene for serious injuries to his legs and taken to hospital where he remains awaiting surgery.
Nikky Howarth (12/09/1985) of 62 Kingston Avenue, Chadderton has been charged with Section 18 – wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Ben Grogan (30/11/1993) of 8-12 Horsedge Street, Oldham has been charged with Section 18 – wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Detective Sergeant Scott Deakin of Oldham CID said: “I would like to send our best wishes to the victim and wish him a speedy recovery from his injuries sustained during this incident.
“This incident will have a detrimental impact on the victim and his family unit, the victim who went to hospital will need to endure a recovery period that could last many months.
“We would like anyone with information, dash cam or CCTV footage to come forward and should do so by contacting police on 0161 856 8999 quoting log number 293 of 28/05/2023.
“Reports can also be made anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
