Police were called reports of an incident at a restaurant on Rochdale Road in Harpurhey at 4am this morning (Sunday 18 June 2023).
An unknown male tried to gain entry and access money from the payment area.
Officers are currently investigating the circumstances and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Jonathan Barnett, of GMP’s City of Manchester Division, said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the staff and diners involved and thankfully no one was injured.
“We need to locate the person responsible for this. We are hopeful that someone may have seen something or witnessed any unusual behaviour around the Rochdale Road area at the time.
“Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has CCTV or dashcam footage that can assist our investigation, is urged to contact police on 101, quoting the log number 731 of 18/6/23.”
