At 6:25pm last night (Thursday 30 March) Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Vulcan Street, Oldham.
The pedestrian, a young boy, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries that are believed to be life threatening.
A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. He has since been released on police bail.
Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have footage of the incident - including CCTV or dashcam - to please get in touch.
