At approximately 5.20am this morning, Saturday 1 April 2023, officers were called to Cheetham Hill Road, near to the junction of Trinity Way, to reports of a two-vehicle road collision.
Colleagues from GMFRS and NWAS were also on scene. A 20-year-old woman was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries for treatment.
SCIU are now appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward as investigations are ongoing.
PC Loxham, the Roads Policing Lead Investigator said: “This was a very serious accident that occurred early in the morning.
“We are asking anyone who may have been walking home along Cheetham Hill Road or Trinity Way at the time, or anyone driving down the same roads, who may have witnessed the incident, to come forward.
“We would also like to view any dashcam or CCTV footage that covers the junction around the time of the accident. Anyone who can help is asked to dial 101 quoting log number 660-01/04/2023.”
