At around 9pm on Monday 6 February 2023, officers responded to reports of a knife point robbery involving two teenage boys on Angouleme Way in Bury town centre near to the carpark at Go Outdoors.
Thankfully no serious injuries were sustained at the time, although clothing and electronic devices were taken before they headed towards the tram stop, believed to be travelling into Manchester City Centre’s Market Street.
GMP are now looking to identify and speak to these two men who they believe have vital information that can help with the investigation.
PC Rick Flynn of GMP’s Bury district said; “This was an understandably a traumatic incident for the victims and after conducting and following a number of lines of enquiry, we are now in a position to appeal to the local public for any additional information.
“GMP is taking a tough stance to knife crime in Greater Manchester and this incident is no different, although we believe it is isolated. We are continuing to support the victims and since the incident, regular patrol plans have been in place to provide visible reassurance to the community.”
If anyone has information that may assist officers with their enquiries, they are encouraged to contact 0161 856 8049 direct or 101 quoting log number 3449 of the 06/02/2023.
Alternatively, details can be passed on anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
