Officers in Stockport are appealing for information after a necklace valued at £19,000 was stolen in a robbery at a jewellers shop in the town centre.
Police responded to a 999 call from Christopher Brown Jewellers, Merseyway, at 10:50am on Friday 6 January 2023.
PC Hayley Errington-Radcliffe said: "Staff reported a man had entered the store and asked to look at the necklace.
"When staff members showed him the necklace, the offender produced something from his pocket and held it to a staff member’s side, and said: 'Give me the necklace'.
”The offender then snatched the necklace and left the shop through a security door that he had left propped open.
"No-one was injured but we are appealing for anyone who has information or was in the area at the time to call police on 0161 856 9790."
The suspect is described as a black male, about 5ft 7in tall, of medium build with a short, trimmed beard.
He was wearing a blue baseball cap and a black jacket, black trousers and black trainers. Witnesses said he may have had one or two gold teeth.
