Police appeal for information after a stabbing in Little Hulton, Worsley

Shortly after 5:30pm yesterday (Thursday 23 March) Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a disturbance between a group of young men at Kenyon Way, Worsley, where a man was stabbed.

Emergency services attended and a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries which are believed to be life changing.

A 17 year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. He remains in police custody.

Initial enquiries suggest this is an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public but a scene will remain in place over night whilst officers continue with their investigation.  

Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area before, during, or after the incident. If you have any information – or any CCTV, mobile, dashcam or doorbell footage – please report it directly to GMP.

Detective Inspector Sarah Ball of GMP Salford division said: “We understand this incident may cause concern to the local community, but I’d like to reassure residents we have officers working around the clock to establish the circumstances.

“Extra officers have been deployed to the area to reassure the community. If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to them, they are there to support you.

“I would urge members of the public who witnessed anything to please come forward and report this information to us. No matter how small the information may seem, it could prove vital to the investigation.”
