Officers were called at 15.35 hours today, Thursday 4 May 2023, to the Hulme Arch Bridge to reports of a man falling from a bridge.
Colleagues from NWAS and Helimed also attended the scene to assess and take the man to hopsital, whom it is believed has sustained potentially life-threatening and life-changing injuries.
The Bridge and surrounding roads, including inbound and outbound traffic on the Princess Road junction of Mancunian Way and Princess Road junction with Greenheys Lane, were temporarily closed and have now been reopened.
Police are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.
Inspector Phil Marsh of CoM Central district said: “Enquiries are still ongoing at this time to try and establish the circumstances of this incident, which has left a young man seriously injured.
“We would therefore be grateful if anyone who saw the incident, or may have captured it on dashcam footage, to give us a call via 101 or through the Live Chat function on the website www.gmp.police.uk.”
