Old Trafford’s Neighbourhoods Policing Team are working alongside detectives to provide extra reassurance to residents following last night’s incident on King's Road, Old Trafford.
Last night, Police were called to an address on Kings Road, Old Trafford at around 7.45pm yesterday evening (Wednesday 31 May 2023) to reports of a disturbance.
The victim - a 21-year-old man -was found with serious injuries and sadly pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
A 15 -year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with this incident and a 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in the nearby area.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Marc Foster, who is a familiar face in the area, has been working today within the Neighbourhood Policing Teams to patrol the area. He said: “We want our presence to be a reassuring one to those who live in the area and are worried about the incident that occurred yesterday.
“We are working with partner agencies and local authorities to minimise disruption and do all we can to keep our residents safe and to ensure we remain engaged with the local community and we are here to answer any of your concerns.
“GMP officers are here to provide support and reassurance to the local community and to reiterate that this kind of violence has no place on our streets, and it will not be tolerated.
“Our aim is to engage with as many people as possible, to reassure them that we are doing everything we can do to keep them and their communities free from crime.
“We are also here for anyone who wants to talk to us, in confidence.
