On Monday 15 May 2023, at around 11:45am, officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Back Bridgeman Street at the junction with Recreation Street in Bolton.
A 62-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
On Tuesday 16 May 2023, the 62-year-old man sadly died as a result of his injuries and his family and loved ones are currently being supported by specialist officers.
A woman in her 30’s remained at the scene while officers conducted enquiries. No arrests have been made.
GMP are continuing to urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone who may have dashcam footage, CCTV or any further information to come forward and contact police.
