At around 11:55pm last night (Sunday 7 May) Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a serious assault at Grange Road North, Hyde.
Officers and emergency services arrived on the scene to find a man in his 20’s had been stabbed, sustaining serious injuries to his chest. He has been taken to hospital for further treatment but thankfully the injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Detective Inspector Graham Heaney from GMP Tameside district said: “We do believe that this was an isolated, targeted attack and that the wider community are not at risk. However, there will be an increased police presence over the next few days, to provide that reassurance.
“The investigation is still very much in the early stages, and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident last night or anyone who has any information or CCTV/dashcam/doorbell footage, to contact GMP on 0161 856 9262 quoting log number 4039 of 7/5/2023.
