GMP secure charge as part of Wigan murder investigation

Officers were called to a concern for welfare of a woman in Douglas House, in Wigan, at around 8pm on Monday 30 October 2023.

After entering the property Caroline Gore was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.   

David Liptrot (04/09/67) of Shelley Avenue, Coppull has been charged with murder and has been remanded into custody and will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Friday 3 November 2023

Detective Inspector Alex Wilkinson of GMP Major Incident Team said; "Our thoughts remain with Caroline’s family who continue to be supported by specially trained officers and are aware of the progress being made in this investigation.

"As a result of our enquiries, a man has been charged with murder however I would like to continue to appeal that anyone with information about Caroline’s death make contact with police.
