GMP’s Major Incident Team charge two more people for murder after an incident in Manchester city centre

Officers were called to Dale Street at approximately 6.30pm on Wednesday 16 August 2023, in which two men sustained serious injuries. One of the men sadly passed away in hospital from his injuries on Monday 9 October 2023.

Four men were initially charged with attempt murder and section 18 assault.

Mohammed Al-Enizi Hameed (25/07/1987), of Brighton Grove, Rusholme; Hussein Muhalhal (01/08/2003), of Lower Park Road, Longsight; Fares Hassan (11/01/2002), of Ribston Street, Hulme; and Hussein Mouhelhel (01/01/2002), of Wynnstay Grove, Fallowfield, all are remanded in custody.

The indictment will be amended to murder and section 18 assault when they next appear at court on Monday 4 December 2023.

In addition, on Wednesday 22 November 2023, a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with murder and has since been remanded to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court the day after on Thursday 23 November 2023.

A further 16-year-old boy, who also cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with murder last week (Thursday 16 November 2023) and was remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at Manchester Crown Court on Monday 4 December 2023.

The families of the victims are continuing to be updated with the progress being made in this investigation.
