On Monday 20 November 2023, a further person, appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court in relation to an investigation into the death of Kennie Carter (16) who was fatally stabbed on Thirlmere Avenue in Stretford on 22 January 2022.
The 16-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons is the latest development after nine others were charged in late October 2023 in connection with this investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicola McCulloch of GMP’s Major Incident Team said: "As this investigation continues our thoughts remain with Kennie's family who continue to be supported by specially trained officers and are aware of the progress being made.
“This latest development goes to show our enquiries will not stop until we have been able to bring justice and some form of closure for his loved ones.
“I would also like to reiterate the important message that anyone with information about Kennie's death or relevant footage - including mobile, CCTV or dashcam – to make contact with police in confidence. It is not too late, and we know more information is out there.
