Today, officers across the force are highlighting the work that goes into keeping neighbourhoods across Greater Manchester safe from crimes such as vehicle crime, robbery and burglary as part of Operation Acquire.
Yesterday morning (28/11/2023) GMP Traffic were alerted to a suspected stolen vehicle in the Greengate area of Middleton.
With the help of officers from GMP Traffic, two men aged 22 and 19 were arrested at the scene on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle by means of burglary.
Inside the vehicle officers located a large number of tools believed to be linked to conducted snap lock burglaries, the items have been seized.
Detective Sergeant Matt Adshead, from GMP's Oldham Neighbourhood Team, said: "Each area in Greater Manchester is committed to attending every burglary report we receive to drive down this crime as part of #OpCastle.
"We will continue to work to bring those responsible to justice, but we need you help us to help you by following our simple crime prevention advice.
