Just before 1.30am this morning (Sunday 5 November), police were called to a report of an assault on Wilmslow Road, Manchester.
Officers attended and located a man in his 20s with head injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and to locate any offenders and detectives are currently following up a number of lines of enquiry.
