Robert Palmer has now been formally identified as the 77-year-old man who was tragically killed after a vehicle mounted the pavement and collided with him on Buxton Road near to junction of Fence Street in Stockport.
He was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries. Paying tribute to him, his family have said the following:
“Our beloved Robert (Bob) was taken from us too early and so suddenly that our family, friends and community are struggling to come to terms with our loss.
“A family man and grandad, Robert will be deeply missed and we have been overwhelmed by the showing of emotion and support by the many people that knew and loved him.”
His family have asked for their privacy to be respected at this time whilst they continue to grieve for their loss.
