An investigation by Rochdale CID into criminal damage to the Cenotaph in Rochdale on Tuesday 7 November 2023 has resulted in a further male being charged.
A teenager who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with racially aggravated criminal damage and theft.
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Round said: “I want to reassure the public that we take incidents like this extremely seriously and we have been working hard alongside local partners. Criminal damage towards Cenotaphs will not be tolerated in Greater Manchester and we will be robust in bringing those responsible to justice.
“We are still appealing for information about these events and ask that reports be made by contacting 101 quoting incident 1294 of 07/11/23. Anonymous reports can be made via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
