24-year-old man who ran a Class A drugs line is jailed for 3 years and 9 months

Following an investigation by Greater Manchester Police county lines team, Kielan Shennan (DOB: 24/01/1999) of Munn Road in Manchester has been jailed for 3 years and 9 months.

Shennan came to the attention of police for his involvement in the supply of Class A drugs – particularly crack cocaine and heroin – in the Lancashire areas of Burnley and Rosendale.

An investigation was launched by the county lines team after phone evidence implicated a mobile number in a busy drugs line. The investigation team then set about determining who was in control of the phone and where this person was located.

Mobile phone evidence and CCTV enquiries led to the identification of Shennan and he was later arrested on 16 August 2023. A house search also led to the seizure of a significant quantity of heroin and over £1,500 in cash.

The investigation and evidence stacked against Shennan demonstrated he was involved in organising ‘drug runners’ and had a leading role in supplying Class A drugs for the county line.

He pleaded guilty to being concerned in supplying of a quantity of cocaine and possessing with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A Heroin contrary to section 4(1) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, and to possessing criminal cash.

PC J Claxton of GMP county lines team said: “Shennan was a key player in a county line supplying significant amounts of crack cocaine and heroin to the areas of Burnley and Rosendale.

“I welcome the sentence today and I hope it sends a message to the criminals that we will seek to arrest and prosecute anyone involved in the supply of drugs, which blights our communities with misery and violence.

“We will continue to work tirelessly to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs and ultimately protect the young and vulnerable in our communities who are exploited by them.”
