You may have seen a story back in June of this year where the SVEU reunited a limited-edition Land Rover Defender with its rightful owner more than a year after it had been stolen from him before going on to be used in crime.

The Unit open the doors to their workshop on the programme on BBC One at 10am to show how they’ve managed to uncover the real identity of other similar vehicles.
Stolen Vehicle Examination Unit Supervisor Peter Johnson said: “I am really pleased to showcase not just this case but what the team do on a regular basis.
“The team work hard day in, day out, to help reunite stolen vehicles with their rightful owners and it was a pleasure to hand John back the keys to his much-loved Defender.
“I would like to thank the Crimewatch Live team for coming down and profiling us, myself and the rest of the team are really looking forward to seeing the final product.”
Crimewatch Live is broadcast on BBC One at 10am every weekday from Monday 2 to Friday 20 October 2023. The programme is also available on I-Player for seven days.
