Appeal following assault at AO Arena in Manchester

Officers have released the photo of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a serious assault at the AO Arena in Manchester.

Shortly after midnight on Sunday 2 September 2023, officers received reports that a man had been attacked inside the AO Arena on Hunt’s Bank, Manchester, shortly after a boxing event that night.

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries that required hospital treatment, although these were thankfully not life-changing. 

Officers are now appealing for help in identifying the man pictured as its believed he may have important information about this incident that will aid the investigation.

Additionally, anyone with relevant information or footage is asked to share this with officers.
