Stockport’s Neighbourhood Crime Team detained eight people on suspicion of theft and drug offences following a series of targeted arrests this week.
The team arrested two 16-year-old boys in Cheadle Heath on Monday night and they have been charged with burglary and fraud.
One of the teenagers has also been charged with taking a vehicle without consent, while a 12-year-old boy has been referred to the Youth Offending Team.
The three arrests relate to a burglary in the Cheadle Heath area.
Martin Dalton (19/02/1987), of no fixed abode, has been charged with four counts of burglary relating to commercial properties in the Heaton Moor, Heaton Chapel and Reddish areas, while Aiden Riley (26/09/1988), of Lancashire Hill, has been charged with handling stolen goods.
Both were arrested on Tuesday night and appeared in court on 11/10/23.
On Wednesday, the team made three further arrests and carried out 10 stop-searches - a 52-year-old man was arrested near the town centre on suspicion of burglary and a 27-year-old man detained in the town centre on suspicion of a commercial burglary. Both were released on bail.
A 36-year-old woman arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs has been released on bail.
Detective Inspector Michael Jimenez, of Stockport’s Neighbourhood Crime Team, said: “Tackling burglary and arresting people suspected of carrying out the offences is a top priority in Stockport and across the force.
“We are committed to making sure people feel safe in their homes, while businesses owners should expect their property to be safe when unoccupied.
“The Neighbourhood Crime Team will continue to track down these offenders and lock them up.
"These arrests came as part of a dedicated week of action - this won't be the last time we will be knocking on suspects' doors."
Recent figures show burglaries across Stockport have fallen by almost a quarter over the past year.
The number of suspects charged and remanded has increased by 30.8%, while arrests are up by 16%.
