On Monday 11 September 2023, at around 11:30am officers from GMP’s Oldham district were actively patrolling the area of Derker.
Officers patrolling the area noticed a male acting suspiciously and after spotting the police patrol vehicle, the male made off from the scene.
Officers located the male which led them to a property on Whetstone Hill Lane in Derker where two men were detained for the purposes of a stop and search.
A 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply Class B drugs and assaulting a police officer.
The 20-year-old male was taken to custody for further questioning and has since been released on police bail pending further investigation.
