Rui Lucas (19/08/82) of no fixed abode was sentenced last week (31/8/2023) to 4 years and 3 months in prison after being found guilty of robbery
The incident took place on 6 July 2022 at around 1.45pm. The victim was on his electric bicycle delivering food on Wilmslow Road in Rusholme with a food bag on his back searching for an address. Lucas approached the victim and took out a knife and pointed it at the victim.
A woman attempted to hold Lucas back from hitting the victim she pleaded with him to leave the bike, which was valued at £410, but Lucas refused to stop and said “I will kill him” whilst holding his bicycle. The victim fled to safety and contacted the police.
