Greater Manchester Police are appealing for information following an incident that occurred at around 6:30pm on Friday 22 September 2023, on a tram near to Failsworth, Oldham.
Officers received reports that a man had attacked someone on the tram and caused damage to several of the tram's windows.
The victim received minor injuries.
Officers were deployed to the scene and attended the incident location but unfortunately found no suspect.
Enquiries are currently ongoing and officers have now released a photo of man who they would like to speak to, as they believe he may be able to help with their enquiries.
Inspector Stephen Griffin, from Greater Manchester Police's Transport Unit, said: "Both staff and passengers should be able to feel safe when working and travelling on public transport. This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated and we are working hard to investigate the reports we have received.
"If you were on the tram and have not yet spoken to an officer, I would ask you to please contact us with any information you may have."
Anyone with information that may help officers with their enquiries are asked to call 101 or 0161 856 6758 quoting incident 3052 of 22/09/2023.
