Officers in Stockport have charged a second teenager in connection with an incident at Sainsbury’s in Hazel Grove on Saturday.
The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with robbery, attempted robbery, going equipped for theft, attempted theft of a motorbike, resisting arrest and driving offences.
The charges relate to the Hazel Grove incident as well as the attempted theft of a motorbike in Cheadle Hulme in July and an attempted robbery in Reddish in August. He has been remanded to appear at Tameside Magistrates' Court today (07 September 2023).
Officers were called to the supermarket car park at 2pm on 2 September to reports of a disturbance.
Malachi Boswell (14/4/2005), of Hurstbank Avenue, Manchester, has also been charged in connection with the incident and was remanded into custody to appear at Minshull Street Crown Court on 11 October 2023.
Investigations into the incident by the Stockport Neighbourhood Crime Team are ongoing and anyone with information should contact police.
Detective Inspector Michael Jimenez said: “We still need information about Saturday's incident - anyone who witnessed it or was in the area at the time and has dashcam footage should contact police on 101 or via email to [email protected] quoting Operation Mass.
"Officers are also looking to speak with members of the public who intervened and would urge them to contact us.
