During the early hours of Monday 25 September 2023, the Stockport Central Neighbourhood and Neighbourhood Crime Teams, executed a warrant in the Shaw Heath area of Stockport under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
After gaining entry to the address, a thorough search of the premises was conducted and the property was seized.
Items seized included drugs paraphernalia and documents.
Shortly after the warrant, police arrested a man involved in an unrelated incident. The man had been wanted by police and was seen by a partner agency in the Victoria Park area.
Prompt attendance by the Response Team and Central Neighbourhood Officers ensured there was no escape for the wanted male.
The 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, 12 counts of theft and recall to prison.
He was remanded in custody to attend Tameside Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday 27 September 2023).
Inspector John Picton of the Stockport Central Neighbourhood Team said: “Unfortunately an officer was assaulted by the offender as he attempted to evade arrest.
“This is more excellent work by the Stockport Police Teams. We will be executing further warrants will be executed across Stockport over the coming weeks.
