Officers are appealing for information following reports of an attempted robbery after an incident on a tram in Shaw.
At around 10.20pm on Wednesday 10 April, a man was travelling from the Derker tram stop to Shaw and Crompton.
While on the tram, a group of males are alleged to have made comments towards the man, before following him off the tram and along Beal Lane.
Shortly after, it is believed they pulled on a balaclava, demanded the man’s belongings, and reached towards their waistbands as to suggest a weapon. The man has then run off to a nearby pub for safety, at which point the males have made off.
Officers are investigating and have now released an image of three males they would like to speak to, as they believe the trio could help with their enquiries.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, via gmp.police.uk, or by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. The log number for the incident is 2624 of 11/04/24.
