Officers are appealing for information following reports of a serious assault of a male late last night (Saturday 3 August 2024).
At around 10.50pm, officers responded to reports that man had sustained serious injuries on Broadoak Road, Ashton-under-Lyne.
A 24-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which thankfully are not believed to be life-threatening. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Detectives believe this incident to be isolated with no wider threat to the community at this time.
Officers are now asking for anyone with any information in relation to the incident to please come forward.
Detective Inspector Christopher Dean, from GMP’s Tameside district, said: “We are seeking anyone who has information about this incident to please get in touch. This sort of violence has no place on our streets and officers are investigating this incident as we work to seek justice for the victim.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact police via 101 or gmp.police.uk, quoting log 3561 of 03/08/24. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
