Our dedicated officers and detectives from local districts as well as specialist officers in our Major Incident Team, have been working hard round the clock by taking swift action to identify and arrest those involved in violent disorder throughout Greater Manchester in August.
We have live appeals running and we are continuing our ask for your assistance in identifying suspects. If you know or recognise anyone in the images, please continue to get in touch and do the right thing.
We are using all resources available and reviewing countless hours of footage to identify those who we believe are responsible, and putting those individuals before the courts.
Greater Manchester Police have arrested more than 100 people following violent disorder across Greater Manchester this month.
Assistant Chief Constable Colin McFarlane, said: “These individuals were warned that they would face the full force of the law if they incited violence or took part in the violent disorder that we have seen over the last few weeks, and this remains as we are identifying more and more individuals who we are arresting and putting before the courts.
“A lot of work goes on behind the scenes following largescale events of disorder, officers and staff have been trawling through hundreds of hours of CCTV, phone footage and officer’s body worn video footage to identify individuals involved. We are then working to build strong cases to take to court, their hard work has resulted in the arrests of 101 suspects to date and it’s work that they should be proud of.
“As a force we are stepping up to protect our communities, we are showing that we will not tolerate this behaviour by using all of the tactics and resources available to us to bring people to justice.
“Communities across Greater Manchester are truly pulling together through these difficult times, and we have seen this first-hand as we are receiving a lot of support from members of the public, some have left us cards and gifts at police stations to thank local officers for their service.
“Our message is clear to those intent on causing violent disruption and disorder to our streets, we are using all of our powers to identify and arrest you, and if you were involved and you haven’t heard from us yet, expect to soon.
“We are working closely with criminal justice partners to ensure we are managing cell capacity effectively and continuing to relentlessly pursue offenders.
“We are appealing to anyone who has information or video footage of those involved in this to come forward so we can identify and continue to arrest those responsible.”
Officers are still seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects related to disorder across Greater Manchester.
