In the early hours of this morning (7 December 2024), a 16-year-old male from Brinnington, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with 8 counts of robbery, 4 counts of attempt robbery and obstructing a police officer. He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Saturday 7 December 2024.
The charges relate to a series of robberies committed along the A6 and in Stockport Town Centre by an offender riding an electric bike.
Chief Inspector John Picton of Greater Manchester Police Stockport Neighbourhood Team said, “Stockport Police are relentless in their efforts to tackle robbery. We work around the clock to proactively identify, seek, and arrest those who commit crime and cause harm to our community.
“We are determined to continue our crackdown on criminality and anti-social behaviour to ensure Stockport remains a fantastic place to live, work and socialise.”
