At around 1pm on Saturday 21 December 2024, we responded to reports that a man had suffered stab injuries on Wellington Road in Stockport near to the junction of St Thomas’ Place.
Emergency services attended and a 25-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries that are thankfully not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Additional officers will be in the area over the coming days and they will be more than happy to lend a listening ear to any concerns you may have.
Detective Constable Hayes of Stockport CID, said: “We are currently investigating the full circumstances of this incident, and I would urge anyone with any information to please come forward and speak to us.
“We have launched an investigation and a team of detectives are working hard to ensure we find those responsible.
“We do believe that this was a targeted incident, with no wider threat to the public and I would urge anyone with any information about this incident to please get in touch.
“This may include CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from around the time of the incident or any information.
