At 3:30pm yesterday (Monday 23 December) we were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Liverpool Road in Irlam between two cars.
It is believed that one of the cars mounted the pavement and was involved in a collision with a second vehicle.
Sadly, it’s believed that a woman in her 60s suffered a medical episode at the wheel. Despite the best efforts of bystanders and emergency services, she sadly passed away at hospital shortly after.
No other injuries were reported.
Police are looking to build a timeline of events, and are appealing to the public for any information, or dashcam footage.
