A further two people have been charged in relation to a kidnap that occurred in Tameside.
An investigation was launched on Wednesday 24 January 2024, following reports that a man had been assaulted and forced into a car on Chester Avenue in Dukinfield. Thankfully, the victim was located safe and well.
Today (Monday 12 February 2024), two females have been charged with conspiracy to kidnap.
Megan Birtwistle (17/09/2005) of Essington Walk in Denton was charged with conspiracy to kidnap. She has been remanded in custody to appear at Wigan Magistrates Court on Monday 12 February 2024.
A 17-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons owing to her age, was also charged with conspiracy to kidnap. She has been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester City Youth Court on Monday 12 February 2024.
This takes the total number of people charged in relation to this incident to eight after six men were also charged last month.
