At around 5.55pm on Sunday 3 December 2023, officers were called to a serious road traffic collision between a pedestrian and a car on Manchester Street.
A female in her 40s sustained life-changing injuries as a result of the incident and was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the car, a 45-year-old man, stayed at the scene and assisted officers with their investigation at the time.
No arrests were made.
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
