On Monday 29 January 2024, at around 5:50pm, officers were attended a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on the junction of Lloyd Street South and Platt Lane in Fallowfield.
Officers attended the scene and assisted the victim, who was shortly collected from the scene by a loved one.
The following day the victim attended hospital and was discharged the same day.
However, on Sunday 11 February 2024, the 39-year-old woman sadly passed away.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish if her death is a result of her injuries from the road traffic collision.
Initial enquiries suggested a silver Toyota Yaris was travelling in a southerly direction on Lloyd Street South in the direction of Platt Lane in Fallowfield.
The victim then enters the carriageway crossing Lloyd Street South and is struck by the car.
The car subsequently stopped and remained at the scene.
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
