A 39-year-old has been found guilty of murder of a man in Bury whose body was found inside a duvet cover at the bottom of the stairs at his home address.
Ian Connell (01/08/1984) of no fixed abode was initially arrested by police on Tuesday 22 August 2023 on suspicion of burglary, after the alarm was raised by a postman, who had seen him accessing the rear of a property on Ainsworth Road in Radcliffe.
A subsequent police search of the property found the body of Donald ‘Prentice’ Patience, 45. Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Prentice.
Connell was found guilty of Mr Patience’s murder on Thursday 29 February 2024 at Manchester Crown Court and will be sentenced on Wednesday 6 March 2024.
